ETE 5900 Hands on Science for Teachers
ETE 5900 is a one semester credit course that counts towards recertification. "Hands On Science for Teachers" gives teachers
the opportunity to learn science experiments they can use in class. They will
also learn the basic science behind the experiments.
Air and Weather Workshop
Teachers will learn about Air and Weather and how they are related.
They will be given a demonstrator kit to take back to their classroom.
Light and Color Workshop
Teachers will learn about Light and Color.
They will be given a demonstrator kit to take back to their classroom.
Simple Machines Workshop
Teachers will learn about simple machines and how they are used in every day life.
They will be given a kit of simple machines to take back to their classroom.
Electricity Workshop
Teachers will learn about electricity and magnetism. They will be introduced to transformers and
will build an experiment dealing with AC and transformers.
Water Workshop
Teachers will learn about water. They will be introduced to the properties of water, how amber is formed,
how oil spills are cleaned, and will perform experiments dealing with all of water's properties.
You can take the experiments back to your class to demonstrate it for your students.
Available for those teachers whose school participate in the Junior Engineering Program.
Requirements:
- Participation in Junior Engineering Program.
- Attend a two hour workshop.
- Pass an on-line quiz.
