Go to the menu bar. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences.
A new window will appear. In the white box on the left side of the new window, click on the plus sign next to "Mail & Newsgroups". The list will expand Click on "Identity"
Fill in the Name and e-mail boxes to the right. Click on "Mail Servers" in the box on the right. To the right you will see a box titled "Incoming Mail Servers" Click on "mail". It should turn blue, like the example to the right. Click on the "Edit" button.
In the new window click in the "Server Name Box". The server name is every thing after the @ in your e-mail address. If your e-mail address is frank@cc.usu.edu then you would enter cc.usu.edu in the box. Click in the "User Name" box. Enter your user name. This is every thing before the @ in your e-mail address. Using the preceding example, you would enter frank. Make sure that "POP3 Server" appears in the "Server Type" box. If it doesn't click on the down arrow on the right side of the box. This will give you some options. Click on "POP3 Server" Click on the OK button. This will take you to the previous window.
Click in the "Outgoing mail(SMTP) server" box. Enter the every thing after the @ in your e-mail address. Click in the "Outgoing mail server user name" box. Enter every thing before the @ in you e-mail address. Click on the "OK" button. Exit
